Poopetrators.com
A poopetrator is a person who defecates in public or otherwise commits an act of vandalism using feces.1 The term is a blend of “poop” and “perpetrator.” Incidents range from leaving deposits on playground equipment to smearing doors and keyholes.2
The term has appeared in news reports since at least 2004, when parks and schoolyards in Wisconsin were targeted at night on park play equipment that prompted increased police surveillance and cameras, yet the individuals responsible were never identified.3 Similar patterns appear in residential neighborhoods and institutional settings.

Public spaces, shared housing, and recreational facilities have all recorded repeated fecal incidents attributed to unidentified poopetrators. In one university laundry room, multiple deposits occurred over several weeks, leading students to coin the label “poopetrator.”4 Cleanup costs and temporary closures have been reported in municipal pools as well.
